Comms Upgrades
With the arrival of NBN services, combined with cloud-based storage and Virtual Machine Servers, many small to medium enterprises find themselves with un-needed full sized comm’s cabinets, full of now unused services & hardware. Cable and Comms specialise in moving your current use servers to a more suitably sized cabinet by identifying unneeded equipment and services, and migrating your existing hardware & patch panels into a more suitable sized enclosure. We can also re-arrange services, identify and tag the crucial links to make future service calls much simpler.

Ausgrid
From a shortlist of invited companies asked to inspect the lab, provide an estimate and an initial works schedule, Cable and Comms were asked to present a more detailed plan going on to become the winning tenderer. With only an initial partial scope of works by the lab engineers and working to tight time constraints, we were able to produce a working scope and schedule of works, with a timeline that allowed all groups using the lab, to work safely around us and to be able to shut the labs high voltage testing works down in periods required to undertake our works.
These works included new tray capacity to tie in with existing, above the acoustic panel line. Multiple comms and power cabling including fibre, cat-6 instrumentation cabling, GPS antennae cable and multicore-multi-voltage cable. All new cabling required us to install a new switching comms cabinet with cabling ultimately routing to the existing comms and power/instrument cabinets. We used a variety of termination types with custom manufactured patch panels and leads. Lastly, new hanging led lighting was installed over the lab desks and in the lab comms room and new monitor brackets to suit the altered layout.
Cable and Comms finished the project within the time frame and strict safety conditions, leaving a group of happy electrical engineers to work with their new systems.
